Description

The Dell PowerEdge R710 server, powered by dual Intel Xeon 5500/5600 series processors, provides comprehensive solutions that allow you to spend your time and money on operating and developing your business. The Dell PowerEdge R710 series has a simple goal: to help you simplify IT. It is designed for organic development and the capacity to adapt based on your company’s changing requirements.

The server supports eight 2.5-inch (SFF) drives with a total capacity of 18TB, as well as DDR3 memory with a capacity of 288GB across 18 DIMM slots in a 2U rack.

CPU power in the 5600 Series

This R710 server has a quad-core Intel Xeon E5620 CPU operating at 2.13GHz, as well as a supplemental socket for a secondary processor, providing an easy method to increase the server’s capability in the future. The Intel Xeon 5600 series assists IT in meeting the data center’s performance, power, and innovation needs by delivering a new generation of processors built on 32nm technology that can automatically regulate power consumption and intelligently adjust server performance based on your application requirements.

The server also has 4GB DDR3 memory and 4 PCI-E ports, as well as Energy Smart technologies and appropriately scaled efficient power supply units to decrease power consumption while improving performance capacity.

Controllers that are quick and adaptable

The server comes equipped with a Broadcom or Intel integrated network controller, with optional upgrades, and the PERC 6i RAID controller is an easy-to-manage RAID solution that aims to simplify IT environments while boosting controller and storage reliability and server uptime. An Intel QuickPath Interconnect (QPI) connection provides additional connectivity.
